Like the next person I am worried about money
and paying bills.
This is why I decided to put a little bit
of money into shares, although I've never
been lucky.
But a couple of weeks ago I decided to buy
£600 in Tesco shares and £200 in Ryanair shares.
I bought the Tesco shares because I had heard
that Warren Buffet had done so. As he knows
what he is doing I thought, I'll copy him.
As of today I have lost £23.24 on both shares
taken together. That's a loss of 3% approximately.
I should add that my previous investment of £500
in the company Dicom was a loss as well. I left
the investment running for a couple of years,
but it never really recovered. I lost
aproximately £30 on Dicom.
Noting compared to the catastrophe of Black Rock Oil.
I bought shares worth £200 and lost £160.
Oh yeah, my first investment a couple of years
ago was Woolworth. I was lucky to get the same
money out I had put in.
It appears as if the Pareto principle also
applies in investment. 80% of shareholders
are handing money over to 20% who know what
they're doing.
Perhaps those who know are those running the
infrastructure of the investment system.
Hopefully during the course of writing this blog
I'll figure out how to make money.
